The Reno River Festival is no longer just for humans!
The annual whitewter kayak fest now includes furry friends in two new events. The Splash Dogs dock jumping and diving competition, drawing top dock dogs from around the region.  Sunday’s more gentle Biggest Little Dog Jog welcomes all makes and models of canines and uprights.

Try-outs for Splash Dogs will be held Friday, followed by preliminary rounds on Saturday and finals on Sunday afternoon. Registration is on-site the day of the event. Splash Dogs is a sanctioning body for dock jumping and dock diving events for dogs in two classes: Open and Lap Dog

The Biggest Little Dog Jog  debuts at 11 a.m. Sunday. It's  a dog-owner fun run through downtown Reno. The course is approximately 2 miles and is relatively flat so as to accommodate all types of pets and owners. Cost is $25 per dog and partial proceeds benefit the SPCA of Northern Nevada. All participating dogs receive a commemorative Reno River Festival Dog Jog bandana and other goodies.

Please note – all dogs in the Park must be registered competitors in one of the two dog events. They must be friendly and kept leashed except when actively competing in the Splash Dogs competition. No dogs with bad attitudes, please.

Dogs may enter and exit the park via the pedestrian walkway on the east side of Wingfield Park on Island Drive or the wooden bridge at West Street Plaza.

Cost: $
