Big River State Beach

Big River State Beach

Big River State Beach is located on the south side of Mendocino, about 2 miles north of Little River. The west side of the beach is dog-friendly. Access the beach by vehicle from Highway 1, or by trails down the bluffs.

Big River State Beach is often used by picnickers, sunbathers and players in the surf. With a long stretch of river, it is also a good spot for a walk. The water here is a dazzling blue-green and the sand is light and bright; it’s beautiful. Keep your dog leashed per beach rules, and watch for seals.

The west side of Big River State Beach is dog-friendly, as is the paved path, but please keep your dog on a leash.
