Content Manager/Editor
 
DogTrekker.com, the leading California dog-friendly travel website, is looking for a content manager to assist in managing and expanding our local, accurate and engaging content on our award-winning website, blog, newsletter and soon-to-be-launched mobile app.
 
We want to talk to you if you:
  • Are someone with a passion for storytelling and communication, especially about our canine friends
  • Have a writing and editing background, preferably web-based
  • Have recruited and managed freelance writers, achieving timely delivery of quality content that is on-brand
  • Are willing to work in a small-team, fast-paced environment
  • Have strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Have a basic understanding of HTML and experience with CMS platforms
  • Have experience with multiple social media channels
  • Have negotiated inbound and outbound content partnerships
  • Most of all, have the desire to make a difference in the lives of dog owners who love to travel, hike, splash and play with their 4-legged friends 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Working with DogTrekker.com founders and editorial staff on developing editorial direction for the site, blog, newsletter and social media channels
  • Managing the above
  • Develop a plan for and recruitment and management of freelance writers for destinations outside of northern California
  • Working with DogTrekker.com destination partners on story ideas and managing social media integration
  • Incorporation of user-generated content into DogTrekker.com
  • Develop and negotiate content integration strategies utilizing DogTrekker.com content and seeking out additional relevant content for our site and mobile app
  • Leading the charge to take DogTrekker.com to the next level of visitor engagement

Sales Associate
 
DogTrekker.com, the leading California dog-friendly travel website, newsletter, blog and mobile app, is looking for inside sales reps to either work at our San Rafael headquarters or from another location that is equipped with a dedicated sales phone and adequate wi-fi coverage.
 
We want to talk to you if you:
  • Are someone with a passion for talking about travel with our canine friends
  • Are someone who is comfortable making dozens of cold calls per day, generating interest, qualifying prospects, closing sales and building long term relationships with our customers
  • Have a sales background and understand how to ‘read’ the customer on the phone
  • Know how to respond to requests from current and potential customers
  • Are comfortable with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM software
  • Are willing to work in a small-team, fast-paced environment
  • Have strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
We really want to talk to you if you:
  • Have worked in travel or hospitality sales
  • Have worked in broadcast, print or digital media sales
  • Have worked as a telemarketer or inside lead generator
  • Have a basic understanding of HTML and experience with CMS platforms
  • Most of all, have the desire to join the DogTrekker.com staff in making a difference in the lives of dog owners who love to travel, hike, splash and play with their 4-legged friends 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Working with DogTrekker.com founders on sales packaging of its display ads, newsletter advertorial, Featured Sponsor listings and more
  • Developing lists of prospects ranging from lodging properties to restaurants to attractions to veterinarians and more
  • Working with the DogTrekker.com editorial team on story and feature concepts that could generate new revenues
  • Assisting in managing the current pack of dog-friendly clients
