Tahoe time

Lake Tahoe

Dying to get out on “Big Blue” with your pup? Tahoe Keys Boat Rentals and its affiliate locations will fix you up with a dog-friendly boat (and a “boat butler” captain, if needed) for exploring scenic Emerald Bay or simply cruising along the shore.

If you’d rather paddle than zoom, Tahoe City Kayak, offers Jackson Rec kayaks with cockpits big enough for the two of you to fit inside. It’s also a big player in Tahoe’s SUP (stand-up paddleboard) world and welcomes dogs at it’s Tahoe City pier location.

Another good place to paddle with a four-legged passenger at Tahoe is Waterman’s Landing in Carnelian Bay, which offers SUP rentals along with light meals and has the added advantage of being adjacent to the dog-friendly shoreline at Patton’s Landing.
