A dog show that welcomes mutts? It's an annual tradition in the Niles district of Fremont, where the annual
Niles Dog Show offers classes for dogs of every make and model. Uprights with a competitive bent can enter their canines in fun contests focused on everything from costumes to appearance and performance, while demonstrations throughout the day offer an entertaining look at the rewarding relationship between dog and human. An agility course and doggie water park promise additional amusement. The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday event benefiting the
Ohlone Humane Society and other rescue organizations takes place at
Niles Community Park. Admission is free.
