Marin Humane Society

Marin Humane Society's animal welfare programs have been serving the county's critters and their people since 1907. For many animals in crisis, they make a truly life-saving difference by coming up with creative solutions—for example, the now-famous Pen Pals program that matches dogs in need of a bit of socialization with specially selected low-security inmates at San Quentin. Over the years, it's been a true win-win.

buckarooCurrently in search of a home is this slightly shy little guy, Buckaroo, a 3-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix. Buckaroo is an adorable little fellow, who wants very much to be your friend, just not too quickly! Bucky can be fearful of strangers and new situations, but once he's met you once or twice he blossoms into a happy, cheerful, playful little Chi. Buckaroo spent some time in a foster home, where he quickly bonded with everyone in the house, and vice versa. Bucky loves playing with toys, flirting, and just being a little delight. He also is very social with other dogs, and would make a great second dog. Because he can be cautious, his friends at Marin Humane are recommending Bucky for adults only, but say that with just a little extra TLC, they think you'll find Buckaroo to be a fun, energetic, and loving dog who likes sitting on laps and enjoys belly rubs.
