Pets Unlimited 2012

By: DogTrekker Staff

Little Rocky the dogMeet little Rocky, 10 pounds of cuteness in search of a forever home. Found wandering the streets of Fremont, he was taken to safety by the good folks at Pets Unlimited in San Francisco. A dachshund-Chihuahua mix, Rocky is 12 years old, but you wouldn't know it from his playful nature and charming ways. Not only is he a favorite with the people he meets, he's great with cats and other dogs, too. Also, he loves his lap time and is happy to snuggle with you.

There's even better news—Rocky's adoption fee has been covered by the good folks at Maddie's Fund, so finances aren't an obstacle to finding his perfect home.

Pets Unlimited's work is driven by the belief that "every cat and dog deserves a chance to live a healthy and happy life in a loving home." Over the last year, the organization has found homes for more than 200 dogs and cats rescued from Bay Area shelters. Often, these foundlings had medical issues that needed to be addressed before they could be adopted. Fortunately, Pets Unlimited, as both veterinary hospital and rescue, was able to meet their needs. Help was made possible thanks to the organization's many supporters, both donors and those who bring their animal pals for treatment. A portion of vet fees paid by the public goes to Pets Unlimited's rescue work and allows the organization to offer veterinary care free of charge to pets of San Francisco's low-income and homeless humans as well as dogs retired from the San Francisco Police Department. Whether you're looking to adopt or seeking a great vet in San Francisco, check out Pets Unlimited for a change to be part of a big win-win.
