Don't miss out on the 3rd Annual Poodles On Parade (POP) Extravaganza scheduled for the weekend of Friday, May 17 - Sunday, May 19 in lovely Rancho Bernardo, CA.
FRIDAY, MAY 17: Yappy hour: This years ‘yappy hour’ and dinner will take place 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at the Rancho Bernardo Community Park by the Ed Brown Center. Humans and poodles will enjoy an outdoor area to relax and romp in all to themselves and can stay until 9:30 pm. Due to possible allergies, humans are asked to supply food for their own poodles. SATURDAY MORNING, MAY 18: While check in for pre-registered and non-registered parade participants begins at 8:30 a.m., you will want to get there a bit earlier to make sure you get a goody bag (the first 50 who register receive one), grab some coffee, and check out approximately 30 vendor booths, the awesome raffle items, as well as a mini petting zoo. If you haven’t pre-registered, don’t worry as you can register the morning of the event.
The parade, which is a casual stroll around Webb Park (approximately 5-7 minutes) begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. The parade will be followed by a number of contests which any of the poodles can participate in. Judges will include the local Kahoots Pet Store manager, a local groomer, and a local TV newscaster. The contests include:
1) best hairdo
2) best trick
3) best costume
4) best human/poodle matching costume
5) best group participation with a banner
SATURDAY AFTERNOON, MAY 18: Immediately following the contests, individuals will have an opportunity to have professional photos taken of their poodles (pre-registration required). They will also be able to enjoy a dancing with dogs demonstration as well as a grooming session, which will take place 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
SATURDAY NIGHT, MAY 18: Enjoy another yappy hour, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 pm at Koi Zen Cellars Craft Winery. Humans and poodles will enjoy the winery's lovely atmorsphere and can stay until 9:30 p.m. Due to possible allergies, humans are asked to supply food for their own poodles. Pre-registration/pre-pay is required.
SUNDAY, MAY 19: There will be an agility demonstration by Denelle Curry along with an opportunity to try it out with your poodle(s) at the Rancho Bernardo Community Park by the Ed Brown Center.
This event is open to all leashed, well behaved dogs of all breeds and mixed breeds. However, only poodles may participate in the parade and contests.
