Help save homeless pets by attending the 9th annual gala and fundraiser benefitting the Alameda Animal Shelter, which is managed by Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS).

FAAS was founded in 2009 as an all-volunteer not-for-profit animal welfare group. In 2012, the City of Alameda contracted with FAAS to run the city's municipal animal shelter. Today, FAAS and the City of Alameda work together to serve the people of Alameda and ensure the best care possible of Alameda's lost and abandoned animals.

FAAS is an open-intake facility that accepts all homeless pets found or surrendered by Alameda citizens. They receive more than 1,000 animals a year and save more than 99%, recognized as one of the best rates in the nation, particularly for an open-intake shelter. FAAS is guided by a volunteer board of directors and has 150 active volunteers in all.
