Lantos Center at Peninsula Humane Society

By: DogTrekker Staff

Congratulations to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA on the opening earlier this month of their gorgeous new facility in Burlingame, the Tom & Annette Lantos Center For Compassion, where dogs, cats and other animals can meet and greet prospective adopters in warm and comfortable surroundings. (The old facility at Coyote Point continues to take care of lost and surrendered pets.)

A private organization that also handles animal control and welfare services for San Mateo County,  PHS/SPCA has been saving lives in San Mateo County for 50 years.  It's noted for its community outreach, from its mobile spay-neuter van, training classes and dog-centric events such as the annual Mutt Strutt, to  fundraising efforts  like the Hope Program that engage the public with animals most in need of extra help.

The ideal match for him would be a person with some prior small dog experience and a home with a yard. He gets along with other dogs and is comfortable around older children, but cats are still a mystery. Meet adoptable dogs here.
