Tell your congressional representatives what you think about these proposed restrictions. Remind them that Congress created the Golden Gate National Recreation ARa in 1972 as the first urban recreation area, that off-leash walking and hiking with our dogs in a responsible manner is our chosen form of recreation, that only 1 percent of the GGNRA is available to such use under the current plan, and consequently such use places no undue burden on the environment. Hence the severe restrictions proposed in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) Dog Management Plan are both unjustified and contrary to the GGNRA's stated mission.
