Dog-friendly hiking and swimming in Shasta Cascade

Hike and Splash in Shasta Cascade

DogTrekker.com attended the annual Shasta Cascade Tourism Summit this week at the Red Lion Hotel in Redding. We met with tourism and hospitality leaders from around the region to talk about everything dog-friendly, plus our upcoming May 14th DogTrekker newsletter celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Sundial Bridge.

In addition to Redding and the Shasta Cascade’s pet-friendly places to stay and chow-down, this issue will cover the hundreds of miles of dog-friendly trails, splash zones, houseboats and road trips throughout the area. Throughout the month of May, Paw Press will feature new off-leash hikes from our friends at the Bureau of Land Management.

During the summit, our colleagues at Visit California showed a great video from their YouTube Channel called Stella’s Shasta Adventure. If you're headed to Shasta Cascade country with your pup, you won't want to miss it. If you don't have a trip to Redding on your calendar yet, you will as soon as you watch this video. (Don't forget to turn up your speakers before you watch.)
