For forty years, people have been welcome at the beaches and trails of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA), which comprises 80,000 acres across San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo Counties.
Today, that access is under threat. DogTrekker reader know from our previous postings
about the proposed ban on dogs at some of our most beloved, currently dog-friendly beaches and parks in the GGNRA system. However, our friends at SFDog.org
have started Save Our Recreation
a movement to do something about it.
Save Our Recreation represents more than 20,000 individuals throughout the region advocating to preserve recreation in the GGNRA. They do not believe people and nature are incompatible. They believe we can balance both so that we can protect recreational opportunities and be responsible stewards of our environment like people have been doing in the GGNRA for decades.
