Vet Buzz 2012 Wrap Up

Dog laying on side squinting

Over the year, we’ve tapped Northern California’s veterinary community to bring you Vet Buzz, a column covering “news you can use” on a wide range of topics. From acupuncture to xylitol toxicity, Vet Buzz takes a look at common afflictions, treatments, prevention and common-sense ways you can help your pet avoid getting in the dog house so far as her health is concerned. Feedback from the DogTrekker community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing “whoa, I didn’t know!” appreciation for what they learned from articles on mites, cancer, rattlesnake bites, foxtails and leptospirosis, to name a few.

The interest in canine health topics also led us to add Vet Buzz Alerts on the site and through our Twitter feed…to help keep you apprised of health-related news that help you keep your furry friend safe. Many thanks to our contributing veterinarians at Marin Pet Hospital in San Rafael and Muller Veterinary Hospital in Walnut Creek for their valued advice.
