This charming cottage restaurant in Carmel Valley Village specializes in dishes embellished with herbs from its own garden. Dogs aren't allowed inside to visit the corkscrew museum, but owners shouldn't miss it.

The garden patio is dog-friendly, and the menu includes eclectic house specialties such as homemade country pate, Monterey Bay calamarie and shrimp, chicken enchiladas, shrimp chile rellenos and croque monsieur. The wood-fired pizzas are also popular. For something different, try the Meyer lemon pizza made with lemon, prosciutto, arugula, mozzarella and parmesan.

Open daily for lunch and dinner.
