In 1994 Pamela Jo realized that there was a strong need for Wolfdog rescue, not only in the surrounding area but throughout the U.S. and now LTWR has listings of adoptable Wolfdogs and Northern breeds. They concentrate mostly on the west coast, from TX/CO west. Pamela Jo also offers her services as a canine behavior consultant.

Lake Tahoe Wolf Rescue is a small grass-roots, all-volunteer group of dedicated volunteers that work closely with Pamela Jo. Volunteers help with Foster Homes, Rehabilitation, Home Visits, Transportation, Networking and Adoptions.

Pamela Jo gives seminars at the local schools and libraries, sometimes bringing a Wolfdog with her. This helps her demonstrate to all ages about the right and wrong reasons to adopt a Wolfdog. They also try to discourage people from buying wolfdog puppies or giving them as gifts. Wolfdogs are special-needs animals and a lot of thought and research needs to be done before bringing one of these animals into your home.
