Table Bluff County Park Beach
Loleta, California 95551
Table Bluff County Park has beach access south of Humboldt Bay and west of the small town of Loleta. South of the parking lot is the Eel River Wildlife Area and north is the Mike Thompson South Spit Wildlife Area.
Both Eel River and South Spit Wildlife Areas include long stretches of uninterrupted beaches that are popular with fishermen and horseback riders.
Those with 4WD vehicles and ATV’s can drive on the wave slope staring at Table Bluff Park. Hang-gliders and paragliders take off from the parking lot on the bluff above the beach where some old lighthouse buildings used to stand. Hiking trails can be found on the bluff too.
To get here from Loleta, take Eel River Drive to Table Bluff Road and follow it west to the ocean. There is a gated entrance on the road that is signed Mike Thompson Wildlife Area, South Spit Humboldt Bay. A parking area for Table Bluff County Park is behind the beach where South Spit Road turns north along the shoreline.
