Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve

Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve

Nestled right in the heart of San Francisco, you’ll discover the Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve, a 61-acre oasis that provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. A cool thing about this place is that it’s dog-friendly as long as they are on leash.

The reserve is taken care of by the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), along with some dedicated community volunteers. Together, they make sure the hiking trails are well-kept, and they protect all the plants and animals that live there. When you visit, you can explore these trails, which vary in difficulty, meaning everyone, from beginners to experienced hikers, can enjoy them. You’ll also get to see lots of native plants and even spot some interesting birds.

One of the best parts is the awesome views you can catch from the trails, especially from the top of the hill. From there, you’ll see part of the San Francisco Bay Area, including the skyline and bay.. It’s a perfect spot for taking cool pictures or just sitting back and enjoying the scenery. Plus, there are picnic tables and benches where you can take a break and have lunch. Be sure to bring water for you and your dog.
