Tujunga Wash Greenway

Near 13069 Victory Blvd., Los Angeles, California

The 2-mile loop stretching between Burbank Boulevard and Victory Boulevard gives you and your dog a solid walk through some genuinely interesting urban landscape. The Tujunga Wash Greenway follows a grassy, tree-lined path that runs alongside the actual wash, with the concrete channel visible to one side—it’s the kind of trail that feels separate from the city even though you’re right in the middle of Los Angeles.

The real draw here is the Great Wall of Los Angeles, which runs along the wash’s concrete bank. It’s the longest mural in the city, and there’s something memorable about walking past all that art with your dog. The wall stretches for over a half mile, and different sections cover different themes and time periods, so the walk doesn’t feel repetitive. Your dog will be unbothered by the murals, of course, but you’ll be doing plenty of stopping to look.

The path itself is wide enough that you’re not constantly dodging other walkers or cyclists, and the shade from mature trees along the route makes a real difference on warm days. The ground is mostly packed dirt and grass, so it’s easier on paws than concrete would be. You’ll notice the trail sits lower than street level in many spots, which creates a nice buffer from traffic noise and gives the whole experience a more removed, peaceful feeling than you’d expect from an LA park.

The greenway runs past Los Angeles Valley College on one side, and you’ll see the neighborhoods backing up to the trail on the other. It’s a good spot for a casual outing that doesn’t require driving far from most parts of the Valley. The trail is open year-round, and the morning hours tend to be quieter if that matters to you or your dog.
