Established in 1996, the Sacramento River Discovery Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose staff, volunteers and partners work together to provide natural resource based education, by working with businesses and local and regional environments in a collaborative endeavor.
The Sacramento River Discovery Center uses educational displays and exhibits, hands-on instructional programs, watershed rehabilitation opportunities and other means to enhance the public’s understanding, appreciation, wise use, and stewardship of natural resources that make up the Sacramento River watershed.
The Sacramento River Discovery Center gardens comprise 2 acres and 4.2 miles of dog-friendly pathways along the Sacramento River. The design showcases the best of what local plants have to offer: simple beauty and low water requirements.
Visitor Center Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
