This just in from our friends at Santa Cruz SPCA — they're building a new state-of-the-art facility, and construction's already under way. For many years, they've been struggling to care for animals in a small, antiquated building that was never meant to be a shelter in the first place. Meanwhile, industry standards and best practices have evolved to a state that was simply impossible in the old building.
So good news, the SPCASC's new state-of-the-art forever home will include some pretty exciting things: Over 3,000 square feet of roomy, low-stress kennel space. Room to play, if you're a dog, and climb, if you're a cat. Dedicated medical treatment space, and a space where adopters and prospective adoptees can get to know each other. And more. If you'd like to help all this happen, they'd love to hear from you.
Meanwhile, Charlie Chaplin here is looking for HIS forever home. A 6-year-old mini-dachshund boy, he's especially interested in a career as a lap dog where he can show off his talents for snuggling — but he's definitely up for walks, play, exploration, and all your other activities that require a bright little sidekick.
Little kids are a bit stressful for Charlie. Older kids and adults, especially with calm ways and warm laps — perfect. If this is you, get in touch, he's waiting.
