Dog-friendly Fiesta Island, situated within Mission Bay, is a sprawling park that attracts numerous charity walks, runs, bicycle races, and special events. It is particularly renowned as the host of the annual Over-the-Line tournament.
Fiesta Island welcomes both dogs and horses. Dogs can roam freely, either on or off leash, but owners are kindly reminded to clean up after their animals.
Fiesta Island is located in Mission Bay Park off East Mission Bay Drive. Dogs are allowed off-leash in all areas except for the Youth Campground and Least Tern nesting sites (seasonal). It is open daily from 4 a.m. – 10 p.m. It offers calmer waters than the ocean and sand dunes to run on.
From I-5, take the Sea World Drive exit and head southwest, then make a right onto East Mission Bay Drive, then left to Fiesta Island. There is parking throughout the island.
