There’s one thing very good about getting older: The day you turn 62, you qualify for an America the Beautiful Senior Pass, which costs just $10 for a lifetime and provides free access and half-price camping and other amenities for everyone in your vehicle at more than 2000 national recreation sites including national parks, national forests and grasslands, and at lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. (As a bonus, Nevada State Parks honor the pass, too).

But it’s not only seniors who benefit. Anyone can purchase an annual pass providing gate admission for $80, while active U.S. military members and dependents get one free. Fourth-graders and their families can get pass benefits too, by signing up through the Every Kid in a Park website. The Access Pass is free for people with permanent disabilities and, similar to the Senior pass, includes half-price camping, boat launch and other benefits.
