has been hard at work for animals, and the people who love them, during this period. Our beloved foster families are taking good care of the shelter animals and adoptions are now resuming with modifications. We’ve moved many programs, like humane education and dog training classes
, online where possible.
Marin Humane is still providing animal services to the county such as wildlife rescue and investigations of cruelty complaints. That said we’ve had to scale back many of our important services, like our spay/neuter program, our ability to transfer in animals from under-resourced shelters, and our animal ambassador program.
Sadly, we’ve seen a 40% increase in requests for free pet food, supplies, and help with veterinary support for struggling pet guardians. We’re committed to answering those calls for help, but with the cancellation of Woofstock, our beloved fundraiser, as well as other losses, we’re experiencing a steep drop in funds for the animals.
