Roy’s Redwoods, overlooking the San Geronimo Valley, holds some of the largest redwoods in Marin County.

Prior to becoming an MCOSD preserve, several of the great rings of redwoods were inhabited by members of a loosely organized commune.
Today, the great meadow is frequently used for weddings and other special gatherings.
For a quiet getaway, try the Roy’s Redwoods nature trail. This short loop walk meanders along a secluded ridge among sheltering fir, madrone and oak trees.
From the meadow you can choose from a number of shaded trails that loop through this 293-acre preserve. You may also choose to climb the Dickson Ridge Fire Road to enjoy sweeping views that stretch from Mount Tamalpais in the east to Mount Wittenberg in the west.

From Highway 101 in Larkspur, take the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard exit west past Fairfax and turn right at Nicasio Valley Road. The gate is less than a quarter-mile up on the right.
