Hooch, a handsome pit mix residing at Butte Humane Society while waiting for his forever home

Meet Hooch, a happy young fellow who seeks a spot as the only dog in a loving home.

A smart guy who loves practicing his obedience skills (especially if treats are involved), this handsome pit mix has lots of energy, so he prefers a home where he can get plenty of play time and exercise. Thanks to his energy levels, he's a bit overwhelming for small children, but gets along beautifully with bigger humans. In fact, during his stay at Butte Humane Society, he's become such a favorite that a kind soul has already paid his adoption fee to make it easier for handsome Hooch to go home with his new person.

Hooch is just one of many dogs who find themselves homeless but luckily land at the Butte Humane Society, which has been caring for Chico's critters since 1911. A limited admission shelter, Butte Humane doesn't impose time limits on a dog's stay, but works to keep them all happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home. Just as important, it offers a number of community programs to keep dogs from ending up in the shelter in the first place, including a spay-neuter clinic. In return, the community gives back, like the local restaurants in BHS's Supper Club, who donate 15% of their proceeds on a designated night to Butte Humane.

Hooch, meanwhile, is basking in the hospitality of Butte Humane, but would rather be having adventures with you, so contact his peeps and arrange a meet-and-greet.
