Lone Pine
The town of Lone Pine in the Eastern Sierras is named after the pine tree that was found at the mouth of Lone Pine Canyon. Lone Pine stands out due to the fact that it is possible to reach both the highest and lowest elevations in the contiguous United States within just one hour of driving.
