So long as the weather is good, which is 90 percent of the time on the Central Coast, visitors with dogs will have no problem finding a place to chow down at an outdoor table where Daisy can relax, too.  In downtown SLO, head for Luna Red, across from the mission, which offers fine dining with outdoor seating for dogs and their families. The menu changes seasonally based on supply from local farmers and fishermen. Outdoor dining is complemented with views of the mission, and of course your happy pooch at your feet.

Another popular locals’ haunt is Pappy McGregor's, a locally owned pub whose inviting, dog-friendly patio is warm and always fun, where the pub grub is delicious and reasonably priced. The beer and wine list is primarily local, although the traditional Irish beers are always on tap. For pizza, Vieni Vai Trattoria downtown is a family-owned Italian place with pup-friendly outdoor tables.

In Pismo Beach, try Shell Cafe for a casual seafood lunch, Lido at Dolphin Bay for ocean-view sunset happy hours and Marisol at the Cliffs Resort for fine dining with still more ocean views.

Morro Bay is a destination in itself when it comes to seaside dining. For the best fish and chips in town, head over to the Bayside Cafe. Tucked between Morro Bay State Park and the marina, it’s a foodie favorite with a large, scenic deck. For Morro Rock views and fresh, local catch, seat yourself on the deck of Tognazzini's Dockside Restaurant at the north end of the fishing docks, or pop by the patio of Blue Sky Cafe on the embarcadero.

In Paso Robles, the choices for dog-friendly dining are especially rich. Check out Buona Tavola, Robert’s Restaurant and Wine Bar and Estrella, the latter of which welcomes dogs at its sidewalk tables and features modern Latin cuisine with influences from Spain, Argentina and Mexico.
