Dog-friendly Mile-long Baker Beach in San Francisco lies at the foot of the rugged cliffs on the western shoreline of the Presidio. The view from the beach—with the tawny wilds of the Marin Headlands and the Presidio flanking the Golden Gate Bridge—is spectacular. This is a voice-control beach North of Lobos Creek.
Baker Beach can be warm enough for sunbathing and picnicking. A picnic area with tables, grills, and restroom facilities is tucked in the cypress grove at the east end of the parking lot.
As of 2017, Baker Beach is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, managed by the National Park Service.
While DogTrekker regularly updates off-leash rules, it is important to check to be sure that this area still allows voice control prior to removing your dog’s leash.
