Bishop City Dog Park

Bishop City Dog Park

Bishop Dog Park is a welcoming community hub for dog lovers and their furry friends. Operated by Bishop Dog Park, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, this park is dedicated to creating a well-kept, fenced, off-leash area where well-mannered dogs can play freely while owners connect and enjoy the outdoors. In partnership with the City of Bishop, the park is being developed in phases to include benches, trees, play equipment, and shade structures. The collaboration also encourages responsible dog ownership through educational and recreational activities, all aimed at promoting positive experiences for dogs and their families.

Dog owners are expected to follow a few guidelines to keep the park enjoyable for everyone. Dogs must be licensed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and always enter or exit the park on a leash, which should be carried at all times. Owners should closely monitor their pets and bring only as many dogs as they can handle responsibly. Aggressive dogs, dogs in heat, puppies under four months, and ill dogs should not use the park. For everyone’s safety, choke chains and prong collars are prohibited in the off-leash area, as are human or dog food, treats, glass containers, and smoking. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs, using the waste stations provided. The park is open from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset, giving ample time for dogs and owners to enjoy the day.
