The Stockton Animal Shelter is the largest open-admission municipal animal shelter in the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County. They investigate cases involving animals that are bothersome, abused, neglected, lost and found, in need of medical attention, and take the appropriate action.
The City's Animal Shelter also provides refuge for pets that have been lost. They offer temporary housing of impounded, stray, quarantined, or unwanted animals. In addition, the shelter adopts out animals that need new homes.
