Clarksburg Branch Line Trail

Clarksburg Branch Line Trail

This wide, 3.25-mile (each way) trail follows the former bed of the Sacramento Northern Railroad bed and is well used by dogs (on and off-leash) and their people. There’s even a small lake with shoreline access where you can play fetch. The trail is surfaced with crushed rock, but plans call for paving it soon. Eventually, it will extend for about nine miles.

Several parking options are available, most of them alongside roads that cross the trail (refer to the map). The northern end is accessible just south of the barge canal; look for the signs on Jefferson Boulevard.
