Companion Animal Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization formed in 2002 in response to the high euthanasia rate of adoptable animals in Humboldt County.
Its Community Adoption Center, located in Eureka, CA, is a beautiful temporary home for adoptable kittens and puppies where the public can help socialize and learn to properly interact with them. Companion Animal Foundation offers spay/neuter assistance for people on limited incomes, provides humane trapping methods for feral cats, runs humane education programs, and several other services to the public.
All of their work, from adoptions to humane education, is aimed at increasing the quality of life for animals in Humboldt County by providing people with the knowledge needed to be responsible and compassionate caretakers for our animal companions. One of their most cherished goals is helping to raise the next generation of animal ambassadors through youth education programs and summer camps.
