Eagle Falls Trail offers an easy, dog-friendly hike with stunning scenery that’s perfect for beginning hikers who aren’t afraid of a bit of a climb in South Lake Tahoe. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the falls from the trailhead, and another quarter of a mile to Eagle Lake. There are some steep stairs and rocky portions on the trail, but they are short.
Enjoy incredible vistas of Eagle Lake and Eagle Falls, granite peaks and boulders as you hike. Fill out a free wilderness permit at the trailhead. Eagle Lake is a popular swimming lake on warm days and the trail can get very crowded as a result. Get there early to get a parking spot, and enjoy some of the best scenery in the world with your dog on the Eagle Falls Trail.
