Lake Hennessey Shoreline Trail/Alta Hennesey Loop

Lake Hennessey Shoreline Trail/Alta Hennesey Loop

The Lake Hennessey Shoreline Trail starts at Moore Creek Park Trailhead and follows the contours of the lake for fantastic views of the shoreline, lake and wildlife.

Alta Hennessey Trail is a dirt road that loops through the hills on the northern shore of Lake Hennessey.

Hikers, bikers and equestrians can park in the Moore Creek lot and hike the Chiles Creek trail to the trailhead.

On the northern shore of Lake Hennessey, the trail connects to the Shoreline Trail for a nice loop back to Chiles Creek Trail and the parking lot.

Sam the Eagle Trail is a single-track trail that parallels Alta Hennessey and the Shoreline Trail and provides more of a challenge in elevation change through the grassy hillsides of the eastern shore of Lake Hennessey.

Keeping our trails beautiful and dog-friendly is crucial to ensure everyone enjoys the great outdoors. Some people want to ban dogs from public spaces, but we believe dogs are essential members of our community. They bring joy, companionship, and energy to our hikes. To keep our trails open to our furry friends, we must be responsible. Pick up after your dog, keep them on a leash where required, and respect other trail users. By doing our part, we can ensure that our beloved pups remain welcome on all trails, allowing your pack to continue exploring and enjoying nature together.
