When you drive up to this large-scale winery operation, you might wonder if you've stumbled onto a large-scale industrial operation. And you have. But besides the bulk wines produced here, the fifth-generation Lange family also makes wine for the small-lot Lange Twins and Caricature labels. Last year, the winery opened the Press Room, a sophisticated space with wood-slab bars and decor as sleek as anything you'd find in Napa.
The wines are also impressive, as are the sustainability practices followed by the winemaker. Before leaving, take a walk around a 20-acre site adjacent to the parking lot that is being restored to nature.
