Lava Cap Winery

From its start in 1981, Lava Cap Winery has been owned and run by the Jones family.

David Jones was a professional geologist at USGS and University of California, Berkeley, when he began searching for a special place to grow premium vines.

The quest ended in the Sierra Nevada foothills in the charming gold rush town of Placerville, where he and his wife found an old farm situated on volcanic soil. This special land featured everything needed to grow fine wine grapes with smooth character and elegant textures.

Tasting is complimentary, with the exception of the Limited Reserve Wines List.
