The Loon Lake Campground is located west of Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountains at an elevation of 6,500 feet.
Take Highway 50 east of Placerville for 21 miles to Icehouse Road turnoff. Turn left and go 28 miles to a fork. Take the right fork 5 miles to the campground.
Popular activities at this campground include boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and exploring off-road vehicle trails.
The campground is generally open between mid-June and mid-October. These dates may vary. Some sites are available through reservation. All other sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A daily fee will be charged for pets. Pets must be on a leash at all times.
