Oceano Dunes State Park

Oceano Dunes State Park offers a unique outdoor experience where sandy beaches meet rolling dunes. This coastal area is known for allowing vehicles directly on the beach, providing opportunities for off-road activities. Dogs are allowed on the beach, making it a suitable spot for pet owners to enjoy a day by the sea. The park’s expansive shoreline provides ample space for dogs to run, play, and explore. Visitors should keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after them to ensure the beach remains enjoyable for everyone, and keep on leash.

Areas open to the public are reduced during the March-September snowy plover nesting season, but the scene nevertheless can be crowded.

Oceano Dunes is three miles south of Pismo Beach and about 12 miles south of San Luis Obispo.
