Overtime Brewing Company sits right in Fort Bragg, and it’s worth stopping by if you’re driving up the Mendocino coast. The place opened in 2018 under Dave Simons, a brewmaster who clearly knows what he’s doing—their beer lineup is genuinely interesting. The Jasmine Green Tea IPA is unusual in the best way, and the Princess Oat Pale Ale nods to the local Princess Seafood market. They also make a Fresh Peach brew that’s solid if you want something lighter. The food menu covers the basics well: salads, sandwiches, and other options that pair naturally with beer.
What actually matters for traveling with your dog is that they have a covered patio where dogs are welcome. The staff treats both you and your dog like regular guests, not like you’re doing them a favor by showing up. There’s no performative friendliness here—it just feels relaxed and genuine. The covered setup means you can hang out even on the cooler or drizzly days that Mendocino County throws at you.
Overtime Brewing is also part of the Mendocino County Beer Trail, and most of the other stops on it are dog-friendly too, so if you’re planning a longer beer-tasting loop, this is a natural anchor point. Fort Bragg itself has good walkable areas nearby, and you’re close enough to the coast that you could easily pair a brewery visit with time at a dog beach or park. The vibe here is solidly local rather than touristy, which makes it feel like a genuine spot to check out rather than something designed specifically for visitors.
