Shake Shack is a casual fast restaurant chain serving up burgers, hot dogs, fries, frozen custard, beer and wine. The West Hollywood location sits at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and West Knoll Drive, one block west of La Cienega Boulevard, making it easy to grab a quick bite while exploring the neighborhood.
Getting there is straightforward. If you’re heading east on Santa Monica Boulevard, you’ll spot it directly. Coming from the west, make a U-turn at Westbourne Drive to loop back to the restaurant. The Shack has its own dedicated lot with 40 parking spaces, which is genuinely helpful in this part of town. During peak times when the lot fills up, you’ve got ample street parking available on both Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard.
If you need additional parking options, there are a couple of garages nearby. One is located on Santa Monica Boulevard next to the 24-Hour Fitness at 8578 Santa Monica Boulevard, and another is at LAZ Parking on Hancock Avenue. Fair warning though: the surrounding residential streets all require residential permits, so you’ll want to avoid parking on those side streets unless you have proper credentials.
The menu works well if you’re stopping between activities. You can order at the counter, and there’s usually outdoor seating where you can hang out with your dog while you eat. The burgers are straightforward and reliable, the fries are decent, and if you’re in the mood for frozen custard, they’ve got shake and concrete options. They serve beer and wine too, so it’s a casual spot where you can relax for a few minutes. It’s not fancy or slow-paced, but it does the job when you need something quick and satisfying in West Hollywood.
