Step into the Shell Cafe at Pismo Beach and you will be treated to a wonderful time at one of the oldest continually running restaurants on the Central Coast.
Their history is rich with great tradition. Price Street is the old El Camino Real, the main road between northern and southern California. Shell Cafe was the midway point between Santa Barbara and Hearst Castle in San Simeon.
Hollywood celebrity friends of William Randolph Hearst found the restaurant a perfect place to relax with a great view of the Pacific Ocean and have a bite to eat on their way up the coast to visit the Castle.
