Six Rivers National Forest offers nearly one million acres of forest for your enjoyment, relaxation, and exploration. Within a six-hour drive north of the San Francisco Bay Area, you can experience the solitude of hiking in the wilderness on over 100 miles of trails, enjoy camping near others in developed campgrounds, or the solitude of camping in the back country. The Six Rivers National Forest is named for the six major rivers that run within its boundaries: the Smith, Klamath, Trinity, Mad, Van Duzen, and Eel.
The Six Rivers National Forest office is located at 1330 Bayshore Way in Eureka, CA. Reservations can be made for campgrounds by calling toll free 877-444-6777 or booking online at www.recreation.gov (be sure to check the "pets allowed" box to find dog-friendly campsites.)
Dogs are allowed on leash in developed recreation areas and on established trails, but not allowed in swimming areas.
