At Ted and Kathy Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline, managed by the dog-friendly East Bay Regional Park District,
there is an array of recreational opportunities, making it an ideal destination for both active adventurers and those seeking tranquility. Operated by the City of Martinez, the eastern section of the park features a variety of sports facilities, including baseball fields, bocce ball courts, and soccer fields, along with group picnic areas perfect for family gatherings and community events. Transitioning to the western section, managed by the East Bay Parks District, visitors are greeted by a more serene setting. Here, quiet open lawns and smaller family picnic spots provide a peaceful retreat alongside picturesque ponds and meandering creeks. Nearly three miles of trails offer leisurely strolls through lush marshlands and scenic walks along the shoreline, inviting nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts to explore the natural beauty of the area.
There are specific areas where dogs are allowed, and other areas where they are restricted to protect wildlife and the natural habitat. Dogs are not permitted in the duck pond area, marsh areas, or other sensitive interior zones of the park to ensure the preservation of these habitats. In the parking areas and other parts of the park where dogs are allowed, they must be kept on a leash with a maximum length of six feet and must be under control at all times. Additionally, owners are required to pick up after their dogs to maintain the cleanliness and environmental integrity of the park.
