A couple sits on a bench by a stone wall at Big Bear Lake, studying a map. The man wears a burgundy jacket and holds the map. The woman, in a green vest, points to different locations on it. Next to them, their white and black dog sits attentively, eyes fixed on the map.

Big Bear Lake offers a range of lodging types for your traveling pack. Pet policies vary from property to property, so it’s always advised to call to confirm the particulars before booking. If you like a simple, traditional hotel experience, several lodges welcome dogs and charge either a one-time or daily fee. As all good pet parents know, dogs should never be left alone in a hotel room.

A 3-star lodge in walking distance to the lake, Bay Meadows Resort ($30 pet fee) offers attractive studios and multiple bedroom units—most appointed with fireplaces and kitchens. Also boasting lakeside views, The Frontier Resort at Big Bear charges $15 per night per pet to stay in its woodsy guest rooms and cabins.Centrally located Fireside Lodge has pet-friendly rooms with private hot tubs and patios that are perfect for grilling. You can bring one dog up to 50 pounds for a $40 stay fee, or two dogs weighing a combined total of 50 pounds for a $70 fee.

Two blocks from the Village, Bavarian-style Black Forest Lodge charges a $60 pet fee and allows medium-sized dogs. In the heart of the Village and across the street from the lake, Robin Hood Resort offers select pet-friendly rooms; a $25 fee per stay will be applied at check in. Occupying a prime lakefront stretch near the Village, the upscale and stylish Hotel Marina Riviera welcomes pups for a $100 per pet charge. You can bring a maximum of two dogs, there are no size restrictions and treats will be waiting!
