East bay spca 2013

By: DogTrekker Staff

Meet cuddler extraordinaire Dilly at the East Bay SPCA's Dublin facility, where he's currently waiting for the people who will love him forever so he can love them back. This sweet little guy with the big, soulful brown eyes is a Chihuahua/Cairn terrier mix, about 1 1/2 years old, and has won many fans with his affectionate, low-maintenance disposition. He'd really like someone to share a home with.

Dilly the dog up for adoption

Keeping dogs like Dilly from ending up homeless is the big goal behind East Bay SPCA's Great Chihuahua Challenge, in which low-cost ($20) spay-neuter surgeries will be provided May 6-10 for Chi and Chi-mix dogs living in Alameda and Contra Costa counties between May 6 and 10. It's part of a Bay Area-wide effort of many organizations to help reduce the numbers of these small dogs, who are ending up in shelters in record numbers. If you know of someone who qualifies and would benefit from this event, click here for the details.
