Note: Feather Falls Trail is closed due to fire damage through March 29, 2024, unless can be lifted earlier. Visitors should check alerts and notices on the Plumas National Forest website for the latest information.

9. Fort Cronkhite Loop

Part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Fort Cronkhite Loop aka the Hill 88 Loop provides awe-inspiring coastal views. The trail has a moderate level of difficulty, and dogs are welcome. Dogs are permitted off-leash under voice control.

10. Tahoe Rim Trail

The Tahoe Rim Trails circles Lake Tahoe providing 165 miles of trails through meadows, forests, and stunning alpine terrain. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
