Every dog has its day in Fort Bragg

A vibrant dog park bathed in sunlight features abundant greenery with mature trees, offering ample shade for leisurely outdoor activities. In the distance is a well-equipped playground that presents an additional activity area. An inviting picnic table spreads out nearby, ideal for enjoying meals al fresco or taking relaxing breaks from play. A neatly-placed trash bin aids in maintaining the park's cleanliness for everyone's enjoyment. Dominating the scene is a generously wide dirt path gracefully curving through the expanse of grass, promising exploratory walks and lively fetch games.

The Beachcomber group of properties are a sure bet for visitors traveling to Fort Bragg with furry companions: The group includes three dog-friendly hotels not far from water’s edge, each of which offers many amenities for you and your pet.

The Beachcomber Motel is a luxury property with panoramic ocean views, “pet suites” that open onto a fenced deck with dog house and pet shower, plus direct access to the company’s dog-exercise. (The property also has an on-site spa, but that’s just for humans.)  Also in the Beachcomber group, Surf & Sand Lodge, bathed with sounds of the sea, is walking distance to town as well as water’s edge, while the 30-room Beach House Inn, just 500 feet from the shore, features private balconies overlooking the Pudding Creek Estuary plus quick access to Glass Beach, known for the smooth, colorful glass pieces that can be found here.

Don’t have a furry friend of your own? A “Borrow a Buddy” program allows guests at all three properties to borrow an adoptable dog from the local shelter for a fun outing.
