Marin humane society 2015

Blind dog wearing a halo
Brownie out and about with his halo.

The good folks at Marin Humane Society have a long history of going the extra mile for the critters in their care — so it's a good thing that's where Brownie landed.

Elderbull Brownie (best guess is he's a pit bull/boxer mix) has managed to retain a friendly, cheerful disposition despite finding himself in the shelter at age 10. He's always up for a walk, an adventure, or a snuggle, and he doesn't let the fact that he's blind keep him from exploring and enjoying life. A kind volunteer noticed that Brownie was bumping into objects that turned up in unexpected places, and reached out to Muffin's Halo for Blind Dogs. They donated this space-age "halo," which helps Brownie navigate his surroundings when he's out and about.

Brownie's looking for a home as an only dog (since he can't read the body language of other canines). His ideal lifetime companion is a person who can work with his disability and his strengths to give him a happy, active life. Also lots of belly rubs. His energy level belies his age — he loves to play and excels at nose work. If you've got a warm spot in your home and heart for this guy, get his details here.
