DogTrekker.com reader Kathleen S. spent four nights in the Palm Springs area with her four-legged family member, Murphy. Here's what she had to say about their desert getaway:
"We vacationed between Christmas and New Years in the Palm Springs area and it was perfect! The Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa was a great place for long dog walks along the paths and evenings were spent around the fire pit, meeting guests from around the world.
The Westin has a heavenly dog bed to go along with the human one as well. It is overfilled and when Murphy jumped into the middle, it billowed up around her! We felt completely welcome there. A special treat was the dog in the lobby, who is up for adoption to his forever home. I hope he has one by now.
We were surprised there were not more pooch-friendly attractions but Murphy, our fur baby, really enjoyed the Moorten Botanical Gardens. Lots of lizards!"
